History

The Knoxville church was planted in 1993 by a faithful group of disciples from the Nashville Church. But Knoxville’s history stretches well before that. There were several faithful disciples who lived and worked in East Tennessee - the Tri-Cities area who had been building God’s Kingdom for quite a while before the “official team” came to plant the Knoxville Church. The brothers and sisters from Nashville, led by Bill and Amanda Burke, were able to have great success in establishing the church because of the combined effort s of those who moved from Nashville along with those who already lived in the area. A strong campus ministry was built and many families were converted through the years as several different brothers led the church - Bill Burke, Bobby Lee Bobbitt, Dean Toscano, KW Engelhart, and Allen Rosenfeld all served the church in its first 9 years. Ward and Ellen Herbert arrived in December of 2002 and have been here for the last 8 years.  The Knoxville church is so grateful to those who made so many sacrifices over the early years of the church to help lay a foundation on which we can build.
